The cylindrical section (barrel) of the dehydrator that contains the screw press is made up of wedge wire groups with a wedge profile. Since the wedge wire forms a fan-like space that spreads outward while maintaining its ultrafine slits, it is hard to clog and ensures a high percentage of open slits. The sludge is therefore filtered optimally at a high filtration speed, or in other words, the dehydrator has gained both a large treatment capacity and high collection rate.
Dehydrator “SX type” has a dehydrator ring installed at the exit of the pressure section. The sludge is sent along by the screw vanes and these dehydration rings work to slow down the forward movement of the cake that fills the space between the vanes. This results in an increase in pressure inside the barrel. For this reason, the internal pressure can be further increased by increasing the number of these rings, making it possible to efficiently lower the water content of the cake without treatment capacity dropping.
